
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zlensky on August 30 condemned the “terrible murder” of Andria Parubia, a Ukrainian legislator who previously acted as a lecturer. According to the authorities, there was an incident in the western city of Lviv.
He promised a thorough probe into the housing.
“The Ukrainian Minister of Internal Affairs IHOR Klymenko and General Prosecutor Ruslan Kravchenko have just informed about the first known circumstances of the terrible murder in the lion. Andria Parubiy was killed. My condolences for his family and beloved.
The police said the victim was shot several times, but did not reveal his identity.
Who was Andriy Parubiy?
Parubiy was born 31 January 1971 and was chairman of Verkhovra Council, the Ukrainian parliament from 14 April 2016 to 29. August 2019. In 2004 he was an important supporter of the pro -European orange revolution in 2004 and Maidan Revolution in 2014.
Before he served as a representative in the Verkhovany Council in 2007, he was a representative of the Lionell Regional Council. In February 2010, Parubiy appealed to the European Parliament and urged them to re -consider their unfavorable response to former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko to grant Stepan Bander, leader of the Ukrainian nationalist organization, the title of hero of Ukraine.
On 7 August 2014, Parubiy resigned as the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council. He decided not to publish the reasons for his resignation and said, “I believe it is unacceptable to comment on my resignation during the war” and “would continue to help the queue, especially volunteer flags”.
Parubiy became a founding member of his new People’s Front in September 2014. During the Ukrainian elections in October 2014, he was re -elected as a representative of the people on the list of the “Frow Folk Front”. On December 4, he was selected as Verkhovra Council Vice -Chairman.
In July 2019, the Ukrainian parliamentary elections, Parubiy was second in the list of Solidarity. The party secured 23 seats (including national and 2 election seats), which allowed parobia to return to parliament. August 29, 2019 was replaced as chairman of Verkhovra Council by Dmytro Razumkov.
