Indian-Origin Vabhav Taneja, Tesla CFO, has become a key figure in the newly announced political enterprise Elona Muska The America Party (AMEP).
The recent submission of the Federal Election Commission (FEC) revealed that Taneja was formally listed as a depository of records and treasurer for Elon Musk’s America party, underlining the depth of Musk’s credibility in his highest financial lieutenant.
Tesla’s highest financial bailiff
According to his profile LinkedIn, Taneja worked in Tesla for more than eight years and constantly climbed to the company’s highest financial contribution:
- CFO (CFO) – August 2023 to the present; Based in Austin in Texas

- Corporate driver – May 2018 to March 2019
- Corporate control assistant – February 2017 to May 2018

Tanej’s ties to Elon Musk
Taneja worked closely with Musk during Tesla’s rapid global expansion. In his roles CFO and CAO he is a trusted administrator of Muska’s finances, including the preparation of official submissions, audits and information on compliance.
His selection as a treasurer and a depository for the US Party signals that Musk relies on the proven ability of Tanes to handle highly bets, highly examined regulatory and financial matters.
American party and Musk’s political break
The submission comes after Elon Musk’s sleep with Donald Trump, a former close ally. Musk on X (formerly Twitter) announced that he had launched an American party to question what he called the American “system of one party”.
“Today, the American side is created to return your freedom,” Musk said.

“When it comes to bankruptcy of our country with waste and graft, we live in the system of one side, not in democracy.”
1 July, shortly after the Senate approved the draft Tax and Expenditure Act, Musk wrote on xPreviously Twitter: “If this mad expenditure account goes through, the US side will be created the next day. Our country needs an alternative to the democratic Republican Uniparty to have people really vote.”
Musk, who once led Trump’s government efficiency (DOGE) and was the main donor of Trump’s campaign 2024, broke his ties after criticizing Trump’s tax and spending. The fall has led to the threat of Trump, who warned that the government could re -consider its contracts with Muska companies.
The involvement of the Tanes on the American side is the brightest sign that Musk intends to manage movement with the same tight circle of trusted executives who helped build Tesla and SpaceX.
As a treasurer, Taneja will be responsible for solving political contributions, regulatory submissions and compliance with the federal election laws and adds an unprecedented new dimension to his long career in business financing.
