Punjabi singer Teji Kahlon has been shot dead in a targeted attack in Canada, with people linked to gangster Rohit Godara claiming responsibility.
The attackers, identified as Mahender Saran Dilana, Rahul Rinau and Vicky Phalwan, said in a social media post that Kahlon was shot in the abdomen. “We did a shooting in Canada on Teja Kahlon. He was shot in the stomach. If he understands, fine. If he doesn’t, we’ll finish him off next time,” the ominous message warned.
The crime faction alleged that Kahlon supplied weapons and funds to rival outfits and acted as an informant.

The organization also strongly warned others, specifically businessmen, developers and financial brokers, against aiding rival factions. They declared that anyone who helped their opponents would be considered an enemy and their relatives would suffer the consequences.
“This is just the beginning. Stay tuned for what happens next,” the post concluded ominously.

The episode comes hot on the heels of a similar incident a few days ago in the United States where Hari Boxer, a senior associate of gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi, was targeted. Godara also claimed responsibility for the attack, claiming that he and Goldy Brar directed a shooting in California that resulted in the death of one of Boxer’s colleagues and the hospitalization of another.
The incident underscores the escalating gang violence affecting the Punjabi diaspora across North America, with prominent public figures increasingly being targeted.

Who is Teji Kahlon?
While details about the Punjabi singer are scarce, a quick check of his Spotify, Apple and Saavn profiles reveals that Teji last dropped a track in 2022.
His signature tune is probably Mithi Jail, a popular track released back in 2019. Other famous songs from Kahlon’s catalog include Jhoomar, 8 Kitiyan, Do Kille, Time Chak De, Jinna Chir, Nit Da Sharabi, Gida, Gal Banjugi and Gidhar.
He is recognized for his energetic compositions and has an imposing presence on stage. His lyrical content was always poignant, delivered by his soulful voice. He developed a true passion for music from an early age and successfully carved out a career in the competitive Punjabi music scene. His compositions have been embraced by international audiences and Kahlon is known for fusing contemporary sounds with traditional Punjabi beats.

According to a report published by The Screen, Teji is currently recovering from his injuries. He made his Instagram account private. A look at the profile shows that it currently has 89 posts along with 555 followers and 1,683 followers.
So far, he has not officially commented on any of the serious allegations that have been made against him.
