
The University of Jawaharlal Nezru (JNU) burned a higher member of the faculty and expert on international relations over the accusation of sexual harassment against him concerning the Japanese Embassy official.
According to PTI, there was an alleged incident concerning a professor a few months ago during the university event. The incident is not an isolated case. In the past, many complaints about sexual offenses have been received against the professor, university officials told the press agency.

The decision to terminate the professor was adopted by the Executive Council of the University- the highest legal body- after a detailed internal investigation.
The victim works with the Japanese embassy
The victim working at the Japanese embassy was reportedly harassed during the university event.
She returned to Japan and filed a formal complaint. The case dealt with Indian embassy through diplomatic channels and then referred to the Ministry of Outdoor Affairs and University. The Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) considered the fees as trusted.
The Executive Council then recommended termination without any benefits.
Vice -President JNU Santishree Dhlipudi Pandit said PTI that the release reflects the university attitude to the security and responsibility of the campus.

“This administration committed itself to zero tolerance to sexual predators, rent and corrupt staff seekers,” she said.
Who is Prof Swaran Singh?
-The Professional Swaran Singh is a member of the Center for International Policy, Organization and Disarmament (CIPOD) at the JNU school for international studies. He teaches in the division “diplomacy and disarmament” in Cipod.
-Singh has made his art master (ma) in political science at the University of Delhi. Singh has made PhD in international studies from JNU. He also has a doctoral diploma in conflict resolution in Sweden.
-Singh joined the school of international studies at JNA in 2001. Previously, he was the Research Faculty of Manohar Parikar Institute for Defense Studies and Analysis (MP-UDSA) in New Delhi.
-Singh is considered an expert in control and disarmament of weapons, resolving conflicts and peace studies.
Known as ‘China Guy’
-Singh specializes in control and disarmament of weapons, conflict resolution and peace studies, Indian defensive and nuclear policy, multilateralism, Asian affairs, Chinese and security policy, Sino-South Asia, relations between China and India and developing powers.
-Singh also appeared on television as an expert in international relations and is known as “China Guy” for his knowledge of China.

-Singh was Asia Fellow 2001-2002, where he worked at the school of international studies at Beijing University. He won several guest professors in China, UPEACE and other universities.
“Creepy” professor
-Singh worked as president of the Association of Asian Studies (2006) and General Secretary of the Indian Congress of Asian and Pacific Studies in 2008. From 2012 to 2014 he was also the main officer of the vigilance.
-Singh was also a guest professor, University of British Columbia (Vancouver, Canada) from June 2022 to May 2023.
-On the campus, Singh is known as a “scary” professor, according to at least two research scientists who did not want to be named.
-“He is one of the highest members of the faculty on Wednesday. Mostly visible on television, but his quotations are not so strong,” the scholar said. Singh was about to retire for a year.
