Of the 9.92 people who applied for civil service exams, Shakti Dubey from Uttar Pradesh came out with a shining first position on the test of all India. After five unsuccessful attempts, it cracked.
UPSC said that about 28% of all recommended candidates were women who added that in the top five candidates there were three women in ranks 1, 2 and 4 and 11 candidates were women from the 25 best holders.
Who is Shakti Dubey?
Shakti Dubey comes from Naini, prayer, Uttar Pradesh. Before starting preparation for the state -Service examination around 2018, she graduated from the University of Allahabad and Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Ensured the first rank in CSE 2024. Her object included biochemistry at university level. CS went with an optional subject of political science and international relations.
At first she thought she would become a doctor.
Shakti Dubey at her “lowest place of life”
“I was at school PCB (physics, chemistry, biology), but based on my position I was assigned a place in Dental. I was not interested in this journey, so I decided to chase BSC instead,” Indian Express Dubey quoted. “In my first three attempts, I couldn’t even clean up Prelims. In the fourth attempt, I got into the interview phase, but I lagged. And last year I missed a limitation of only 12 stamps. This was the lowest point in my life-I was thinking about ending,” she added.
“I will sleep peacefully tonight. For years, JO Neend Puri nah Hui, Aaj USKo Pura Karungi (today I will think of years of lost sleep),” Dubey mentioned.
Shakti dubey ‘ongoing preparation itself’
“Shakti studied at class 12 at SMC Ghoorpur, just nearby, and later performed a B.Sc exam from the University of Allahabad,” said her father Devendra Dubey, subordinate to Uttar Pradesh. “After graduation, M.Sc of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) chased, where she also culminated. Although we initially sent her to Delhi for coaching, the Covid-19 pandemic forced her back and continued her preparation,” he added.
The UPSC CSE interview took place from 7 January to 17 April 2025. After Dubey, the list of five toppers consisted of Harshita Goyal, Dongre Archite Parag, Shah Margi Chirag and Akash Garg.
