Early life and background
Pier Giorgio Fassati was born in Italy, Italy in 1901 and grew up in a prominent family. Despite his social status, he devoted his lives to help the poor and the sick. He was a passionate climber, an enthusiast outside and a member of the Dominican third order.

Miracles pave the way to the holy
The two miracles attributed to Frasati were recognized as basic steps to its canonization. The first occurred in 1933, when with a 40 -year -old worker suffering from a tiny disease completely recovered after prayer for Frasati’s intercession. This miracle led in 1990 to his condemnation of Pope John Paul II.
The second miracle occurred in 2017, when a student of the American seminar Juan Gutierrez recovered from the heavy Achilles’ tendon injuries after Novena Frasati prayed. “When I prayed, I felt a feeling of warmth in the ankle and recovered,” Gutierrez said. Pope Francis officially recognized a miracle in November 2024.

Fassati’s canonization calls him a modern example of lay spirituality and services to others. His life shows a commitment to help marginalized and combine deep faith with active charity.
