
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday appointed Nitin Nabin, a cabinet minister in the Bihar government, as the party’s national working president.
The appointment was made by the BJP Parliamentary Board.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Nabin on his appointment, calling him a “Karjakarta stalwart” and expressing confidence that his determination and vigor will strengthen the party.
“He is a young and hard-working leader with rich organizational experience and has an impressive track record as an MLA as well as a minister in Bihar for several terms. He has worked hard to fulfill the aspirations of the people,” PM Modi said on X.
“He is known for his humble nature and grounded work style. I am confident that his energy and determination will strengthen our party in times to come. I congratulate him on becoming the national working president of BJP,” he added.

According to ANI, Nabin said that the achievements are due to the hard work of the party workers and expressed his belief that when one works as a dedicated worker, party leaders always recognize it. He added that he will continue to work alongside them.
Nabin is expected to replace current party president JP Nadda and is among the youngest leaders to hold the position, according to PTI citing party sources.
Who else is there?
According to the report, party leaders said Nabin, 45, is young but brings considerable experience in governance and service to both the people and the party.
Nabin hails from the Kayastha community.
He has also been actively involved in the Yuva Morcha and has experience of responsibilities as a senior civil servant.
Nabin serves as a minister in the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government, handling the road construction portfolio. He is also the MLA representing Bankipur constituency in Patna district.
Son of veteran BJP leader and former MLA Nabin Kishore Prasad Sinha, Nitin Nabin entered active politics after his father’s death in 2006 and won his first election in a by-election that year. He has since been elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly in 2010, 2015, 2020 and 2025, with his victory in 2025 secured by a margin of over 51,000 votes.
