Punjabi origin YouTuber Nancy Grewal was murdered in Canada on Tuesday evening. LaSalle police described the stabbing as an “isolated incident.” The statement was issued a day after the 45-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries.
Windsor resident Grewal was born on Jan. 19. Her father studied engineering at Sirsa National College in Haryana. She lived with her dog ‘Bazveer’. After the death of her father, she took responsibility for her mother. Grewal has built a strong social media presence and boasts of 1.18 lakh followers on Instagram.
In a social media post, the LaSalle Police Department expressed its condolences over Grewal’s death, saying, “Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Ms. Grewal.” The statement added: “To allay the public’s concerns, we share that investigators are treating this as an isolated incident.”
Emergency services responded to a report of a stabbing shortly before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 2400 block of Todd Lane, according to a police report. Eyewitnesses found a woman suffering from stab wounds. Essex-Windsor EMS immediately transported the woman to the hospital, but she could not be saved and “succumbed to her injuries” later that day.
On Wednesday morning, officers closed off two houses between Canada Street and Bishop Street on Todd Lane and placed yellow police tape around a wooded area about a kilometer away, local news outlet the Windsor Star reported.
Investigators found several evidence markers at the scene that led down a concrete path and up stairs to the front door of one of the homes. This marked the second homicide of 2026 in the region. The first took place about two weeks ago, the victim was a 44-year-old man.
For information related to the recent fatal stabbing, police urged the public to contact Det. Sgt. Jamie Nestor at 519-969-5210 ext. 2531. Police also asked residents in the neighborhood to block their security cameras and report any suspicious activity if they spot it.
Grewal’s sister Alishaa MS Grewal shared a heartfelt message on Instagram following her sudden death: “It is with a very heavy heart that I share that my beloved sister Nancy Grewal passed away on March 3rd, 2026. I have lost my sister, my strength, my forever friend. Rest in peace sister. You will always live in our hearts.”
