
The Central Investigation Office (CBI) on July 11 said he successfully coordinated the return of Kubbawal Mustafa of UAE through Interpol channels.
Mustafa is a sought -after criminal from the Mumbai police in connection with the drug drag.
“Unit of International Police Cooperation (IPCU) CBI in cooperation with NCB-ABU Dhabi, successfully brought back, Red notification wanted the subject Kubbawal Mustafa on 11.07 2025,” the agency said in the report.
The four -member police team in Mumbai went 7 July to Dubai in the UAE to bring back Mustafa. The team arrived at the International Airport of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Mumbai 11 July from Theuae.
Mustafa was geotored in UAE through close CBI monitoring through Interpol with NCB-ABU Dhabi, the agency said.
Who is Kubbawala Mustafa?
Mustafa is looking for Mumbai Police in a company registered at the Kurla Police Station in Mumbai for accusing the operation of a synthetic drug factory in Sangli from abroad.
About 126,141 kg of Mephedron drugs worth £2.5 million was obtained and confiscated from the mentioned Mustafa factory and others.
MEFEDRON, also known as 4-methylmethcathinone, 4-MMC and 4-methylefedron, is a synthetic stimulating drug belonging to amphetamine and katinone classes.
Mustafa was accused and the court also issued an arrest warrant against him.
Red notification published through Interpol
CBI received a red announcement published via Interpol in this case in November 2024 at the request of the police in Mumbai.
“On 19.06.2025, NCB-ABU Dhabi said that their authorities had asked for a SAE security mission to return the item to India. The police team in Mumbai was then created to bring the item from the UAE,” the agency said.
The red notifications published by Interpol are spreading to all law enforcement authorities around the world to follow the wanted criminals.

Over the past few years, more than 100 wanted criminals have been returned to India through coordination through Interpol channels, the agency said.
