
Oman on Tuesday announced the second chain for the Asia Cup, where he represented four unlimited players-Sufyan Yousuf, Zikria Islam, Faisal Shah and Nad Khan. Several higher names were omitted, including former Captain Maqsood, Khawar Ali, Bilal Khan, Fayyaz Butt and Kaleemullah. Instead, the party will be led by their most retired player Jatinder Singh.
Jatinder Singh was born in Ludhiana, Pandjab in 1989 and made his debut in the T20 with an international debut for Oman before entering one day in April 2019, when Oman secured the status of ODI.
In ODIS, he scored 1,704 runs on average 29.37, with four centuries and nine half a century. His best career performance came against the Papua-Nové Guinea in April 2022, hit by an undenused 118-mostly individual score of Odi Odi’s body.

In the T20is Jatinder performed in 64 matches and accumulated 1,399 runs on a strike of 118.55, which underlines its impact in a shorter format.
While Zeeshan Maqsood in most matches Captain Oman, Jatinder Singh also reports among the team leaders, he led the party at 12 ODI and 11 T20is since 2024.
Although Oman still has to appear at the ODI World Championship, they appeared in two World Cups T20 – in 2016 and 2021. In five matches in the Jatinder tournament scored 162 runs in an impressive 40.50 average.
In 2016 he also represented Oman in the qualifications of the Asia Cup, played three matches, although the team did not reach the main tournament.
In the 2025 edition, Oman is scheduled to start a campaign on Friday, September 12, against Pakistan Salman Ali Agy at the International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
