Indian Foreign Minister Vikram Misri held the Indian government press briefings on tensions between India and Pakistan.
The highest Indian diplomat, which was in the middle of the “combat situation”, has recently been the victim of trolls on social media over the “announcement of India-Pakistan ceasefire”.

Who is Vikram Misri?
Vikram Misri is an important IFS officer. He is a “Career Diplomat of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) of 1989,” says the Ministry of External Affairs.
During the four-day conflict in India-Pakistan, he was the face of government events and decisions-with both parties who decided to stop a military action after a “bilateral understanding”.

Vikram Misri’s early life and education
Ambassador Vikram Misri was born in Srinagar and had his early education (Burn Hall School and Dave School), as in Udhampur (Carmel Convent School) in Jamm and Kashmir.
He studied at Scindia School in Gwalior and continued to acquire a bachelor’s degree with honors in Hind College, University of Delhi and MBA by Xlri, Jamshedpur.
Ambassador Misri is married to Dolly Misri. They have two children.

Before joining the government, he worked for three years in a private sector in advertising (Lintas India-Bombay and Contract Advertising-Delhi) and advertising for filming.

Hindi, English and cashmere speak fluently and has a work knowledge of French.

Diplomatic Career Vikram Misri
Misri assumed the accusation as Foreign Minister on July 15, 2024. He also served in various capacities at the Ministry of External Affairs, the Prime Minister’s office in Nový Delhi and on various Indian missions in Europe, Africa, Asia and North America.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Ambassador Vikram Misri was part of the Pakistani table of the Ministry for External Affairs.
He also had points on the staff of two Foreign Ministers (Ik Gujral and Pranab Mukherjee).
In addition to working as a common secretary in the Prime Minister’s office, Vikram also worked as a private secretary of three Indian prime ministers – Ik Gujral, Manmohan Singh and Narendra Modi.

Ambassador Misri served abroad in Brussels, Tunis, Islamabad and Washington DC. He was a representative of the High Commissioner of India in Sri Lanka and the General Consul of India in Munich.
In 2014, he was appointed Ambassador of the Indian Ambassador to Spain, in 2016 Ambassador to Myanmar and Ambassador to People’s Republic, where he worked from January 2019 to December 2021.
Last time he was the Deputy National Adviser for National Security (Strategic Affairs) India, a position he held from 1 January 2022 to 30 June 2024.
