
The Indian Police Service (IPS) Officer Deven Bharti is appointed by the new Commissioner of Police in Mumbai, the officials said on Wednesday. Bharti will replace Vivek Phankalkar as the best cop in Mumbai on Wednesday evening.
Vivek Phankarkar left on Wednesday after serving for 35 years, PTI news agency reported.
Who is Deven Bharti?
Deven Bharti is in 1994-IPS (Indian police service) and is currently a special commissioner of the police in Mumbai.
Education Deven Bharti: Bharti comes from Darbhang in Bihar. He completed his master’s degree from Delhi School of Economics. He performed his registry office in Jharkand, Hindustan Times informed.
Deven Bharti Career: Previously, 50,000 strong police forces in the metropolis served in various capacities, including as a joint police commissioner (law and order), another police commissioner (crime) and a representative of the police commissioner (crime).
In his long career he also led the Mahashtra Antironism (ATS) platoon, except that he served as a general inspector of the police (law and order) at the state police headquarters.
Before Bharti was assigned to the Bombai police, he also served for central deputies.
