Indian original doctor Bobby Mukkamal was sworn as 180. President of the US Medical Association (AMA), who became the first doctor of the Indian heritage to led the organization.
According to the Association’s statement, Dr. Mukkamala, otolaryngologist – ear specialist, nose and neck – on Tuesday (June 10, 2025).

Dr. Mukkamala is active in AMA since the stay and is chairman of the working group for the use of addictive substances and pain pain.
Last November, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor 8 cm.
“A few months ago, I didn’t know if this night would be possible,” she said.
He played a central role in response to the water crisis in his hometown of Flint in Michigan – where his parents settled after moving from India at the beginning of the 70s.
“The son of two immigrants, Dr. Mukkamal, was inspired to go to medicine and return to his hometown Flint to serve the community that had previously welcomed his family decades,” the statement said.
Dr. Mukkamala also served as the chairman of the Greater Flint community foundation focusing on project financing to alleviate the effects of lead on children.
He is the previous recipient of the “Excellence in Medicine” Ama Foundation Foundation and was elected to the AMA Council and Public Health in 2009. From 2016 to 2017, he also served as a chairman before elected to the AMA Board in 2017 and 2021.
Dr. Mukkamala graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Michigan and completed the residence in Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago.
