As temperatures rise across telangana, the traffic officials in Hyderabad can be seen as the white hats dress the sun with wide and round edges, which is complemented by them to maintain colder and comfortable in long hours.
In a proactive step to support the frontline staff who annoy long hours on the roads, the Hyderabad Municipal Police introduced improved summer trains for all traffic staff throughout the city. The sets include new white hats, cooling sunglasses, a repeatedly usable bottle of water and a compact bag that transmits the essentials.
This year’s Standout addition is a new white, round cap, designed to offer versatile protection against direct sunlight. These light fabric hats replace traditional dark blue helmets, which many officers considered unsuitable for the summer months because of their tendency to absorb and maintain heat.
Hats were first introduced last year’s Cyberabad police police last year. The new design that came from Jalandhar has proven to be effective in the offer of better ventilation and protection from the sun, which led to their wider introduction through Hyderabad this summer.
Lenin Babu, a traffic inspector at Amberpet, welcomed the initiative. “The old hats had a problem absorbing a lot of heat because it was a darker shade. The white color helps in heat scattering and has a cooling effect and therefore helps us work better. It really helps during the hottest part of the day,” he said.
The traffic police officer from Begumpet Junction shared a similar sentiment. “It’s very useful – it gives a good shade from the sunburnt. White also reflects sunlight,” he said. “The state in the sun and fulfillment of duties can be difficult, but thanks to these good provisions it becomes better,” he said.
K. Srivalli, Transgender Transport Assist with Mahankali Police, expressed gratitude for added protection. “The situation is now a little better. Previously sunlight fell directly on the face and irritated the skin. Now the sunlight falls directly on the face with the hat and it is a relief during the working hours from the morning to the afternoon when the sun is directly above the head,” she said.
Since the temperatures are expected to remain high in the coming weeks, officials expect the upgraded gear to significantly change the well -being, morality and performance of traffic staff on Earth.
