On Tuesday, the Delhi government launched 50 health centers-33 Urban Ayushman arrogya Mandirs (U-AAMS) and January 17 Aushadhi Kendras-in the national capital.
The BJP government previously decided to introduce the U-AAMS network and include Mohalla Clinics, the flag plan of the previous AAM AADMI (AAP) regime (AAP), in an extended program after the auditor and general report of the auditor submitted in the Assembly revealed shortcomings in the functioning of the clinics.
After the U-AAM inauguration in the Tis Hazari Court Complex complex, the main Minister Rekha Gupta said there was a “difference in hell and heaven” between Mohalla and U-Aams.
Mrs. Gupta claimed that Mohalla’s clinics had no need for infrastructure to treat patients, and assured that AAM would “fill the gaps of the Mahalla Clinic”.
“The central government has approved 2,400 GBP Crore in Delhi’s medical grants that have not been used over the last five years. The current government has now begun to use this fund to build 1,139 AAM,” CM said, adding that more than 1100 AAM will be unveiled until March 2026.
“Wherever the arrogya Mandirs will open, the Mohalla clinics will be pushed out with the previous government broom,” she added.
U-AAMS will offer consultations and medicines and will have internal diagnostic tests, vaccination for pregnant women, prenatal and postnatal care, mental health services, older care and support for national health programs such as TB elimination, CM Gupta said.
Meanwhile, Jan Aushadhi Kendras was inaugurated in 17 hospitals. As part of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojana, Kendras offers affordable, quality medicines, medical equipment and surgical items at discounted prices by up to 50% -80% lower than market rates.

The President of the Delhi Pradesh Devender Yadav Congress Committee also claimed that BJP only made “superficial changes” with new color layers and passes them as a new clinic.
