How to celebrate Janmashtami
Janmashtami is celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm throughout India and between the Hindu communities around the world. The devotees observe fasting, often until midnight, a believer of the birth of the Lord Krishna. The temples and houses are decorated with flowers and lights and devoted songs and the anthem is sung.

Nishita Puja is done at midnight, followed by sacrifices of sweets and fruit. In many regions, people organize events Dahi Handi and again create playful actions of Krishna about the theft of butter.
