At a time when celluloid was still fashionable, Light Music offered the public to listen to songs, even though live on stage. That was at a time when films were evolving and most of the films were actually musicals. Even after the arrival of tapes and applications for sharing CDs and music, live lights continue to fascinate the citizens of Chennai.
“At the age of 20, our senior film composer Late CR Subbaraman went to Bombay and acquainted how Western musicians worked in the Hind film industry. He imported a group of 25 western musicians to play for his recordings. 1955. After the film Kathalikka Neramillai they won the title Kings of Light Music by veteran actor Sivaja Ganesan, ”said Thayanban, music director and legend in the bright music industry. He began his light music in 1966, when he was in class 10, studied at Santhome High School. “I named Sangeeth’s time just to change it later.”
After the success of MSV and TRK, many lighting music orchestras began in Madras, Sarangapani – Renuka, Williams, Veeramani -RADHA, Thulasidass, Anirudhu, Joshua -raman – Anads -anhishan – Anshand Anshand Ananshand Shuthi, among other things. In addition to the main singers who sang songs by songs of people who thought in western guitar, violin, violets, cello, flute or brass, thrombon.
Abaswaam Ramjhi, who founded his group in 1976, recalls that he was a late participant on the scene. “The former were the days of the bell DNA, long hair, loud shirts and music to make it all. Popular singer playing, music director and son Tiruchi Loganathan, Deepan Chakkaravarthy, who founded his group in 1974, explained that people learn songs by listening to sound cassettes. “Even though I sing my own songs, I also sing them from TR Mahalingam Mom and My Father. I like singing my father’s songs – especially Aasaiya Alaipole and Vaarai Nee Vaarai.”
He added that singing for the film was “a super good feeling. But when you sing the song in front of the audience or any song, it’s a completely different emotion. At the Malayasia concert in which my father got out, I remember how tears we have received,” he said.
From Madras, the culture of the light music group has also spread to other cities. Even now there is still light music like a genre. Sridevi, a lover of music and inhabitants of the pernbur, said that such live programs of film music that consisted are a great attraction today. “It is excitement to see the big stars in the body and blood and listen to singing them. Imagine listening to Khwaja from Ar Rahman on stage. It is worth going soon and finding your place in the crowd,” she said.
