‘What’s his mistake?’: Former India star wants India to make one big change for 3rd T20I vs Zimbabwe

NEW DELHI: Former India batsman Aakash Chopra believes India should give Prabhsimran Singh a chance in the third and final T20I against Zimbabwe after already wrapping up the series. With convincing wins in the first two matches, India took an elusive 2-0 lead. The final match is played in Harare on Sunday. On his YouTube channel, Chopra questioned why Prabhsimran was not given the opportunity.“I am thinking of playing Prabh (Prabhsimran Singh) as well. What is his fault? You have cast Prabhsimran Singh and we have no idea when you will cast him again.”

You have won the series,” said Chopra.Chopra said India should continue to back Abhishek Sharma despite his poor scores in the first two matches. Instead, he suggested giving Ishan Kishan a break and bringing Prabhsimran into the playing XI. Abhished scored 1 run in the first T20I and then fell for 8 in the second T20I.“So play him (Prabhsimran) in place of Abhishek, or play him in place of Ishan. You can play him in place of Ishan. Don’t play him in place of Abhishek. He hasn’t scored. He has failed in two matches. So play him in the third. Make him score runs and if the bowling option is needed, make him do the job. Prabhsimran is yet to make his international debut. The Punjab Kings wicketkeeper-palter scored 3,665 runs in 127 T20 innings at a strike rate of 151.50.“Give Ishan a break. Prabhsimran Singh can easily stand guard too. So you can use him as a player. This is an opportunity to give to Prabh,” he said.
