The Las Vegas food taster, named one of Mashable’s 101 Most Influential Creators of 2025, started making TikToks to help combat his public speaking anxiety. From Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Houston to New York, Lee traveled to several locations to evaluate local restaurants, favoring Black-owned and family-owned restaurants.
The former MMA fighter expressed his gratitude to the TikTok community, saying the platform helped him unlock a voice he previously struggled to find.
During his acceptance speech, Lee said, “When people say they didn’t think they were going to win, that’s not an understatement,” adding, “I never in a million years thought I’d be standing on this podium.”
He further noted, “I couldn’t talk. I couldn’t be in rooms with people. I doubted myself. I still doubt myself to this day,” Lee said. “TikTok Lets People Highlight Underdogs,” Mashable reported.
Celebrating the milestone, he noted, “It’s hard to do something for myself because I’m always putting other people before myself, but this is for me,” the AP reported.
