What is the net worth of Daler Mehndi? Minister Subodh Uniyal claims that the singer received ₹ 35 lakh for the Uttarakhand event in the middle of the row | Today’s news

Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi is in the limelight following a controversy surrounding his performance at a Navratri event in Uttarakhand where he was publicly reprimanded on stage by state cabinet minister Subodh Uniyal. The minister has since claimed the singer was paid ₹35 lakh for the performance but failed to deliver as expected.

The incident, which occurred at the cultural evening of the historic Siddhpeeth Maa Kunjapuri Tourism and Development Fair in New Tehri, has also renewed interest in Mehndi’s earnings and wealth.

The singer’s reported wealth is estimated at around ₹124 million. His monthly income is estimated at ₹40 thousand while his annual income is pegged at ₹15 million, according to Moneymint.com. He is also said to own various assets worth approx ₹9.36 million crowns.

However, this is an unofficial estimate and has not been independently verified or confirmed by the singer.

What Uniyal claimed

Talking to ANI, the Uttarakhand minister said the singer looked disoriented and was allegedly lip-syncing instead of singing live.

“He’s a great artist. If a great artist doesn’t do justice to his art…He looked disoriented on stage and didn’t seem able to stand. Other than that, he just lip-synced to his songs. I told him he was a great artist and he should live up to his art; he was offered.” ₹35 million to come and perform but he didn’t even sing. So I expressed my displeasure,” said Uniyal.

During the exchange of views on stage, the minister was heard to say to the singer: “You can’t even speak, so how are you going to sing?”

Uniyal also questioned whether Mehndi maintained the decorum expected at a religious event held during Navratri. The minister claimed that the singer was under the influence of alcohol. These allegations have not been independently proven.

Uttarakhand event controversy: Mika Singh, Kapil Sharma and Badshah defend Daler Mehndi

Mika Singh defended his elder brother Mehndi in an Instagram video on Tuesday, challenging claims that the 59-year-old singer was under the influence of alcohol during his performance in Uttarakhand. He said Mehndi remained a superstar for three decades and asked if anyone had ever seen him drink. Mika also stated that artists sometimes keep performance commitments despite not feeling well, including when they have a high fever.

Comedian Kapil Sharma shared Mika’s post and revealed that Mehndi recently underwent a major surgery and urged people to be more considerate of others. Singer Badshah also criticized the public humiliation of Mehndi, describing him as a legend who deserved dignity and respect, especially when dealing with health issues.

Mehndi is known for hits like “Tunak Tunak Tun”, “Bolo Ta Ra”, “Ho Jayegi Balle Balle” and more.
