Appearing on Raj Shamani’s YouTube podcast, Deepinder Goyal answered many tough questions. Everyone noticed the small device Eternal CEO had on his temple.
As curiosity grew, even Reddit users began wondering what the device was. Funny assumptions began.
“Bubblegum,” said one user, while another commented: “External SSD.” One user joked: “Pimple patch.”
One user wrote: “After chewing gum, he didn’t know where to stick it. Then he did this.”
“It’s his brain,” joked another.
There were many other comments such as “Mind Jewels”, “Brainwashing” and “Charging Pads”.
Deeper Goyal Temple
In fact, what Deepinder Goyal had on his temple is called a ‘Temple’. It is an experimental device designed to continuously measure blood flow in the brain in real time.
A small, gold or silver sensor is worn near the temples of the head. It monitors blood flow to the brain, a key indicator of neurological health and aging.

It is an experimental tool, not a Zomato product. It is being developed privately under its parent company Eternal. Not yet available for public or commercial use.
The gravitational aging hypothesis
In November 2025, Deepinder Goyal shared his opinion on gravity shortening the lifespan of humans.
“I’m not sharing this as the CEO of Eternal, but as someone who is curious enough to follow a strange thread. A thread that I can no longer contain,” he (now X) tweeted.
“It’s open-source, backed by science, and shared with you as part of our collective quest to advance the science of human longevity,” he wrote.
“Newton gave us a word for it. Einstein said it bends space-time. I say gravity shortens lifespan. Read on and tell me what you think,” he added while sharing images of the research.

The hypothesis suggests that gravity slowly reduces blood flow to the brain. It leads to brain aging. Because the brain sits above the heart and people spend most of their lives upright, gravity is constantly pulling the blood down. Over decades, this reduced circulation can damage the brain, he says.
The aging brain then causes the body to age faster. Ancient brain regions such as the hypothalamus and brainstem control vital functions including breathing, heart rate, hormone regulation, immunity and body temperature. Poor blood flow weakens these systems and creates imbalances throughout the body.
According to Goyal, the idea was tested for two years through extensive research and discussions with doctors and scientists around the world. No strong scientific contradiction has yet been found.
Bats, yoga and height
Then the research is about bats, yoga and height. They all have a connection to gravitational attractions.
“Bats are the longest-lived mammals for their size, often living 10 times longer than expected. They spend a long time, inverted, with their heads under their hearts,” he says.

“More than 50% of the postures in the practice of yoga involve the ‘head below the heart’ position. A number of yogis have linked the practice of inversion (head below the heart) with longer life,” he continues.
He also says, “Science already knows that shorter people live longer than taller people, but they don’t know why. Maybe it’s because the heart needs to pump blood a shorter distance against gravity, to their brain.”
Many social media users call this “stupid logic”.
“If gravity is the main cause, then why don’t crocodiles, rats, snakes, etc. live at least 1000 years!?” wrote one of them.
