In front of Munir, General Ayub Khan was promoted to the highest military rank in Pakistan. Ayub Khan was awarded the rank of Field Marshal in 1959.

Pakistani attempt with dictators, such as Ayub Khan, was written in and outside the country. One of the loudest Pakistani poets during the term of office of General Ayub Khan from 1958 to 1977 was Habib Jalib.
“Mein not us with yeh kaha …”
Jalib is known for his powerful satire “Mein not Us SE YEH KAHA” (I told him), who became one of his most referred to the verses of the dictatorship era.
The poem reminds of the dictator (in this case Ayub Khan), as can save Pakistan, how he can only take it from the night for the day. Jalib died in 1993. However, about 35 years after Jalib’s death, the memories of the dictatorship in Pakistan did not disappear.
