AH Vishwanath, MLC, sought to know from the Congress what damage the RSS had done to Karnataka.
Reacting to the government’s clampdown on RSS activities in public places like schools and offices, Mr. Vishwanath said here on Thursday that criticism of the RSS and Vinayak Damodar Savarkar by some Congress leaders lacked justification. “What damage has the RSS done to the state or the country?” asked Mr. Vishwanath.
Taking a dig at Congress president Hariprasad, Mr. Vishwanath said the former was still criticizing Savarkar without knowing that he had spent 10 years in an Andaman jail.
Referring to Priyank Kharge, Minister for IT and BT, who sought a ban on RSS activities on public land, Mr. Vishwanath said “junior Kharge was digging into irrelevant matters” that had nothing to do with his ministry.
”Priyank Kharge was elected by the people in the hope that he would emulate his father Mallikarjun Kharge. Instead, in his quest to become a national leader, he is raking in issues that do not concern him,” Vishwanath said. Political leaders have ignored development issues and become motorists, he added.
