Over the past week or so, Telangana has experienced repeated thunderstorms in several districts, including light to moderate rain in Hyderabad. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) attributes this to atmospheric disturbances caused by opposing wind systems and says the pattern is likely to continue till late May or early June, with a combination of high temperatures and periodic thunderstorms expected.
The IMD has predicted thunderstorms in various parts of the state between March 25 and March 30, with sporadic activity expected during this period. According to officials, such spells are typical of the pre-monsoon season and are often accompanied by gusty winds.
