Around 200 departing flights at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport are facing delays due to a computer glitch in the air traffic control (ATC) system. The breach was reported on Friday, November 7, after the automatic tracking system – responsible for generating flight plans – failed, the BBC said, citing sources.
Flight operations “are experiencing delays due to a technical issue in the automatic message switching system that supports air traffic control data,” the Airports Authority of India said in a post on X on Friday. “Controllers are processing flight plans manually, which is leading to some delays,” he said, adding that work is being done to restore the system as soon as possible.
