Western Union has set up a Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad.
The second such in India will focus on platform engineering, advanced digital transformation and thought leadership. The facility will be inaugurated in the coming months and is expected to host approximately 400 employees, Western Union said in a statement.
India Technology Centers Head Rajeev Mago met Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy during the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 earlier this week and informed him about setting up GCC in collaboration with HCL Tech on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model.
“Hyderabad’s world-class infrastructure and talented workforce make it an ideal destination for our GCC. Telangana’s business-friendly environment and commitment to innovation align with our growth aspirations. We are excited to be a part of the state’s thriving technology ecosystem,” Mr. Mago said in a release.
Hyderabad is now a leading fintech hub thanks to a thriving technology and finance talent pool, supported by a robust ecosystem of strong infrastructure and government support. Western Union is a new entrant to the list of leading global financial services companies with the GCC in Hyderabad, the firm said on Thursday.
