Major Minister Mamata Baerjee called thousands of people who lost their jobs to “voluntarily” continue their work until the solution was achieved, but this offer found few recipients.
The school authorities also found themselves in a difficult position with the idea of ”voluntary services” because they do not know whether the teachers who lost their job would get their salaries, and if they were allowed to mark their participation if they went to work.
Demonstrators argued that the West Bengal (WBSSC) school services (WBSSC) could not be distinguished and provided by separate lists of “stained” and “unsuccessful” candidates that led to a blanket of nearly 26,000 jobs in 2024.
