
Police of West Bengal arrested three people for involved in a counterfeit currency rocket in Basirhat in the North 24 Parganas district. One person was cheated on 22 ₹ Lakhs under a loan fraud that included false money.
From July 18 to July 22, the West Bengal Police with the help of a criminal investigation department (West Bengal CID) arrested Teesta Sen, Sirajuddin Mollah and Debart Chakraorta from various districts, IDG AGP, CID West Bengal.
The main accused and “MasterMind”, Abhishek Tiwari, is currently escape, Garg said.
The police were warned after Mr. Mollah and Mr. Chakborty made some purchases on the Dhamakhali market on July 18 at around 20.30 with false currencies.

After interrogation, the police seized 7 ₹ Crores 8 lakh in the currency “Make-Believe”, 40,000 GBP in counterfeit notes and 52,000 GBP in real money from the 206 Royal Island Hotel near the Dhamakhali market. The police also found fake documents, wrapping materials, staples and invoice for CRORES 30 ₹.
“Mr. Tiwari and Mrs. Dream were also appointed in the case of investment fraud also by the Ministry of Computer Crime. They are partners. In this missile, people would cheat by offering huge amounts for low interest rates without any paperwork.
One victim, so far, Subhasish Achary of Asansol, was cheated on the 22 lamps that Mr. Tiwari took as a processing against a loan of 30 Crores for 4% interest. The loan has never been paid.
“Mr. Tiwari turned to Mr. Chakborty, who had a press company and asked him to print false remarks. He did not know about Mr. Tiwari’s true motive,” Mr. Garg said.
He added that Modus Operandi Mr. Tiwari was a loan for video calls and show them volumes of false monetary notes, which promised them loans for 4% interest rate without any verification of the bank or paperwork. The first note in each volume would be actual cash.
