The chief election officer (CEO) from West Bengal was suspended by ARUN GORAIN, assistant system assistant in Kakdwip Subdivision South 24 Parganas district, over accusations of incorrect disposal of forms related to supplements, changes and objections in election role.
The announcement of the 15th May, issued by the CEO of the CEO, said that Mr. Gorain’s mobile number was reportedly invested in the SWAPAN KUMAR Halder login data. This manipulation allegedly allowed Mr. Gorain to access Mr. Halder’s account.
The CEO’s statement further claimed that several applications submitted via forms 6, 7 and 8 were incorrectly destroyed after fraudulent login. OTP and login data for Mr. Halder were sent to Mr. Gorain’s telephone number.
According to the Indian Election Commission, Form 6 is used to apply for new voters registration, Form 7 is submitted for objections to the inclusion or erase in the election role, and forms 8 are more purposes, including moving the residence, remedying items, voting cards (EPIC) and disabled persons.
At the beginning of March, the electoral registration officer and Subdivisional published a notice of the cause of Mr. Gorain. In his answer of 24 March, he allegedly apologized and made sure that measures would be taken to prevent the recurrence of misconduct.
The CEO of the CEO stressed that Mr Gorain’s conduct was a breach of official obligations under Section 32 of the 1950s Act, which made him responsible for prosecution.
The suspension warned the public after ADHIKARI, the leader of the legislator of the opposition and Bharatiya Janata (BJP), shared the notification of social media and welcomed the CEO of the Director. Mr. Adhikari claimed that the suspension followed the complaints that revealed the network of officials and local leaders who allegedly conspired to remove the names of Hindu voters from electoral roles in different districts.
Meanwhile, the CEO on Saturday inaugurated a one -day program of building and education of capacities for system managers, helpers of systems and data commissioners from all 24 districts of West Bengal. The training focused on strengthening their understanding of specialized electronic systems related to the election process. The program was attended by a total of 116 election officials.
