Exuding confidence that the BJP will form the next government in West Bengal after the assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (April 27, 2026) said he would return to the state for an oath-taking ceremony after the results are announced on May 4.
Addressing an election rally in Barrackpore in North 24 Parganas district on the last day of campaigning for the second and final phase of the assembly elections, Mr Modi launched a scathing attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), accusing it of presiding over a “syndicate paradise”, political violence and economic decline.
