‘Well done Arjun’: Proud father Sachin Tendulkar writes emotional notes after son’s IPL 2026 debut

Sachin Tendulkar and his son Arjun Arjun Tendulkar made a strong impression on his IPL 2026 debut for Lucknow Super Giants during their last league match against Punjab Kings. The 26-year-old left-arm pacer bowled confidently and picked up his maiden IPL wicket by dismissing Prabhsimran Singh with a brilliant yorker. He finished with figures of 4-0-36-1 and was Lucknow’s most economical bowler in the match. His performance also drew an emotional response from father Sachin Tendulkar, who rarely posts about his son’s cricketing journey. After the match, Sachin shared a heartfelt message on social media praising Arjun’s patience and hard work. He wrote: “Well done Arjun. I’m proud of the way you’ve come through this season, still believing in your abilities, staying patient, working hard quietly and staying positive even though you had to wait until the last game for your chance.”Arjuna was introduced right after the powerplay by skipper Rishabh Pant and started with well-disciplined bowling and sharp bouncers. Pant dropped a catch early off Arjun’s bowling which proved costly as Prabhsimran scored 69 runs. However, the youngster remained calm and continued to bowl confidently.Sachin’s message caught the attention of fans as he rarely comments on Arjun’s career in public. He further wrote: “Cricket tests patience as much as skill and you did both brilliantly today. Keep your feet on the ground and continue to love the game as always. Love you always.”Even though Lucknow lost the match, Arjun’s appearance became one of the biggest positives for the team.
