
Weather update: After the thunderstorm for Delhi and orange alerts for Mumbai, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has now released a red warning of heavy to very severe precipitation in isolated places above Konan and Goa, during the afternoon and night hours.
The weather observatory also predicted very strong precipitation in isolated places above Assam, Meghalaya, Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe and Madhya Maharashtra.
Following the Red Alert, people were advised to watch the weather for deteriorating conditions and be ready to move to safer places if necessary.
Weather forecast in Delhi
The latest IMD forecast for rain comes with the onset of pre-Monsoon showers across several parts of India. For Delhi, the weather observatory predicted that the sky in the capital would remain partially overcast, with an increased chance of rain and thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday.
On Sunday 27th May are likely to have Thundershowers introduced IMD.
“Thunderstorms and precipitation are probably on 23 and 24 May. The weather should return to partially overcast sky with a potential thunder and flash on 25 and 26 May. Rain or Thundersheowers predict on May 27,” reads the latest IMD edition.
Weather forecast in bombai
IMD released an orange Mumbai warning for Mumbai 24 May and predicted heavy to very strong rainfall along with storms and gusty winds of 50-60 km/HV of insulated areas.
According to the weather Observatory, forecasts about monsoon rain are the formation of a low-pressure system over the east-central Arabian sea on the coast of South Konkan and Goa. It is likely to intensify and bring intense showers through Konan and other parts of Maharashtra, IMD said.
Weather forecast for other regions
In addition to heavy to very strong precipitation and gust for Goa, Delhi, Mumbai, IMD, IMD also predicted severe precipitation and thunder for Odisha, Tripur, among other things.
