
Weather today: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) lifted red alerts issued for Keral and Tamil Nadu, but warned of the possibility of heavy rains on June 16 along the coastal areas of Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka, where red warning is still unaffected.
Orange warnings for heavy rains for Keral, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Bihar, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.
“Extremely heavy rainfall (> 20 cm/24 hours) probably in isolated places above Coast Karnataka on June 16,” IMD said in its last press release. Similar weather conditions are expected today in Goa.
In Tamil Nadu and Puduchherry today light to medium rain rainfall will probably be accompanied by a storm, lightning and impact winds, while similar conditions will persist in Telangana until 19 June.
As a southwestern monsoon over some parts of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh and Odisha are probably heavy rains in these regions today, IMD said. Gujarat and Maharashtra may be irritated in the coming days from 18 June from 18 June.
The transition to northwest India, wet spells are probably in Haryana 21 June, in Uttar Pradesh from 18 June and Himachal Pradesh from 20 June. Monsoon rains will continue in Rajasthan and Uttarakhand until June 21st.
