
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted light up to slight precipitation, accompanied by a storm and impact/squall of wind over the part of the western Himalayan region on Sunday, April 20).
According to the forecast updated on April 19, IMD issued a red warning that predicted heavy rainfall, on Sunday in parts of Jammu and Kashmir. Red warnings were issued in Kupwara, Muzaffarabad, Bandipora, Baramullah, Ganderball, Kishtwar, Ramban and Budgaun on Sunday 20th April.
Meanwhile, orange alerts in Poonch, Mirpur, Rajouri, Anantnag Jammu, Udhampur, Kathhua and Reasi were issued.
IMD said on Sunday that in the morning there is a “possibility of strong weathering over the region (Srinagar)”. IMD expects “a drop in precipitation from the 20th evening”.
“Slight to heavy precipitation reported in the Jammu and Kashmir region within 8330 hours yesterday to 0530 today. Some of the representative values are 71 mm on Sunday; QAZI QUND 53 mm, Kupernag 43 mm, Pahalgam 34 mm and Srinagar 12 mm,” IMD X.
The maximum temperature in Srinagar settled at 23.4 degrees Celsius 19 April, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 11 degrees Celsius.
On Saturday, several flights were canceled at Jammu Airport due to bad weather in Srinagar. The connection of flights from Srinagar to other places was also delayed or canceled.
Thermal waves in Rajasthan, Delhi
IMD also stated that the conditions of the heat wave wave are likely to disappear in Rajasthan from April 20. Heatwave is predicted in Burmer, Nagaur, Sri Ganganagar, Jaipur, Bhilware and Kota.
No main warnings have been issued for Delhi. However, IMD predicted the “partially cloudy sky” in the NCR.
Weather in Uttarakhand, Himchal Pradesh
IMD also issued an orange alert in the parts of Uttarakhand, with impact winds (speed 30-40 km / h after falling to 50 km / h) swept Himacal Pradesh on Sunday.
“Isolated hail probably over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad & Himachal Pradesh 19 and Uttarakhand 19 and 20 April,” IMD said on Saturday.
