Employees of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) said they would start an indefinite protest on 5 August if their requirements were not met by then.
At a press conference in Shivamogg on Friday, the Vice -President of KSRTC employees said the joint Action Committee M. Mahadev that the government should make two main requirements of employees. Employees should receive a remuneration balance of 38 months, along with fees according to the new salary scale with effect from January 2024.
Employees, he said, placed requirements before the government for years. When employees took the protest “Belagavi chalo”, the government received a memorandum, but did not take any further steps.
“If the government fails to meet the requirements of August 4 before, workers will start an indefinite protest throughout the state. No employee will pull buses on the day,” he said.
