“We should protect ourselves from evil suggestions of interests trying to divide society using false stories from history,” said Minister Satish Jarkiholi in Belagavi on Sunday.
“Some forces are trying to paint a picture of Chahatparapati Shivaji Maharaj as an anti-Muslim leader. This is not true. He had Hindu and Muslims in his army. They lived as brothers and king who never discriminated against them.
He spoke after the publishing book by Chahatparati Shivaji, Velká Maratha, from Sarjoo Katkar.
He called on the writers to capture intensive research and publishing books on great personalities, including kings and saints.
“You need to do a lot of work that answers a few questions about big personalities such as Basavanna, Br Ambedkar and Shivaji Maharaj. They should be supported by well -documented facts and not myths. It is well documented that some priests refused to be his coronation. The indebted Jyotiba Phuule, who identified and cleaned it up instead of Shivaji’s rest, ”said the Minister.
He said that Shivaji Maharai should be referred to as the Great Ind and not the Great Maratha. “We should realize that historical personalities belong to the world and not to any particular community or group. We should also think about why those who were against him are now his great supporters,” he said.
“There is a growing trend of people blindly believes blindly, and thinks the news on social media.
“Shivaji Maharaj means a few things for different people. But I would like to think of it as a social leader who tried to introduce equality in society. There are cases where those who are considered inviolable are in temples.
“The medieval king of the era will be known for his patriotism, strategic struggles with enemies for the protection of the country, his military strategy, good management for the prosperity of all people and his efforts to establish social harmony and society without discrimination,” Mr. Jarkiholi said.
Sarjoo, Katkar, spoke about two years in researching a book.
“I traveled over several countries and read more than 200 books and research work in the preparation of material for the book,” he said. He said he was amazed by several things he found during his research.
“The director of the study center Dr. Ambedkara Sambai Rao Birja gave me a copy of the letter to Maharaja Dr. Ambedkar, saying that Shivaji’s guru was Kshatra Jagadgur of Patgaon and not Samarth Ramdas.
He explained that he used Sobriquet the Great Maratha because it was the term used by Queen Victoria to describe the King of Marathy in one of her letters.
Dr. Katkar said he translated RC Dhere researcher books into Cannada. “According to some of their research works, Shivaji’s family came from the Sortur in the Gadag district. Balippa from the Hoysal clan moved from Sortur to Maharaštra to avoid drought conditions.
Former President of Kannada Sahity Parishat Manu Baligar described the book as a reference work for future scientists at Shivaji Maharaj. “There are thousands of books about Shivaji. But it stands out because it is based on the research and not myths and legends. It has been monitoring the history of India for more than 10,000 years. He also casts new light about Shivaji’s successes such as the introduction of his navy,” Dr. Baligar.
Writers Gurudevi Hulepanavarmath and Yr Patil introduced the work. Ramakrishna Marathe, Basavaraja Kuppasagoudar, Sum Katkar and others.
