Major Minister West Bengal Mamata Baerjee announced the compensation of £ 2 lakh on other relatives of those who died of the electric substance after torrential rains on Tuesday morning. She also called on Calcutta Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) to provide 5 lakh compensation.
“For those who have tragically lost their lives yesterday due to an electric electrode, the state government will provide.
Nine people, including eight in Calcutta, died on Tuesday as a result of electricity. Mrs. Banejee attributed the death of negligence by CESC. Several low areas remained waterlogged, even though the city tried to return to normal. Some Durga Puja pandas were affected, and the organizers said they would save them only a few days.
“The water levels have ended significantly, although the gang has experienced considerable floods. With the exception of a few low -laid areas, most of the water has been exhausted. Nature is out of our control,” said the main minister. Kolkata recorded about 252 mm precipitation for six to seven hours of Monday evening and Tuesday morning.
The leader of the opposition of Suvend Adhikari urged the families not to accept compensation from the state government, accused Mrs. Banerjee and mayor of Calcutta Firhad Hakim for death. He said that if families refused state compensation, he provided 2.5 lakh to the survivors.
Meanwhile, members of Kolkata Municipal Corporation in the Council (sewer and drainage) Tarak Singh caused a controversy to compare people who go to waterlogged areas with a suicide attempt. He noted that CESC provides energy of approximately 50,000 street lamps throughout the city. The BJP councilor organized a press conference that criticized the main minister for claiming that 95% of the work on street lighting lighting would be completed and called “complete lie”.
Councilor BJP Sajal Ghosh pointed out that less than one day has passed since his death, but Mrs. Banerjee continued to inaugurate Durga Puja Pandals after a one -day break.
In the middle of the political series, the leader of the congress Rahul Gandhi urged parties to expand the support and call on the state and central governments to act quickly to restore normality. “My thoughts are with people from Kolkata and other parts of West Bengal when they tolerate devastation caused by continuous collision and floods. Sincere condolences to families that have lost their loved ones,” he said.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicts light into a slight collision in many places in South Bengal to 28 September, because of the probable formation of a low -pressure area above the northern and central Gulf of Bengal on Thursday. It is expected that the system is intensified by depression in the northwest and the adjacent west-central Bay of Bengal and around 27 September will cross the South Odisha-North Andhra Pradesh coast, IMD said.
