The Ministry of Trade Unions and Broadcasting launched a challenge of Wavex Startup Challenge 2025 and urged startups across the country to participate in the national hackathon to develop a multilingual translation solution driven by AI called “Bhashaset”.
“The aim of the challenge is to support the development of innovative artificial intelligence tools capable of translation, transcriptions and voice localization in real time across at least 12 main Indian languages. The initiative seeks to support inclusive, accessible and emotional communication technologies,” the Ministry said on Monday.
The challenge has no minimum eligibility criteria, allowing startups to be used at any stage of development. “Startups are recommended to create a scalable and cost -effective solution using models with open source or cheap AI.
The winner will be provided support for incubation under the Wavex accelerator, including mentoring, workspace and development aid until the final product is completed and deployed.
Registrations for this challenge will be open from June 30 to July 22.
