Rekervoir Hemavathi, on Tuesday, said the water would be released from the dam from Thursday because the influx increased due to heavy rains in the river basin.
Officials decide to release water according to KN Rajanna’s leadership, the Minister responsible for the Hassan district and also the chairman of the Irignation Advisory Committee of the Hemavathia Reservoir Project.
GK Jyothi, Member Secretary of ICC and Hemavathi Project engineer, in the edition issued on Tuesday, said that with increasing influx, the water level could soon reach the maximum level. On Tuesday there was a living storage 31.180 TMC.
According to the ICC direction, water would be released to fill the tanks in the command area. People in the cover should be vigilant and careful, she added.
On Tuesday morning the water level was 2 915.1 ft against FRL 2 922 ft. The tributary was 7,685 CUSECS.
