A new solar passenger ship SWTD Soura-1 will be used for Kuttanad Safari. The journey will begin from the pier Alappuzha Boat at 10 am, with the first stop at the destination point Nezru Trophy. From there the cruise will continue through Azhikkal Canal, where tourists will serve traditional breakfast with local flavors.
Visitors will have the opportunity to observe and try their hand on the traditional creation of coconut hills, weaving palm leaves and weaving the subsoil. Handmade items such as Palma, Winnowing Bin and Mats will also be available.
Safari then takes visitors around Real Chundan Vallams (Snakeboats) and offers detailed views of the stunning kuttanadan landscape, including findings about creating block C and R. After reaching R Block, a traditional lunch of kuttanadan will have a mixture for backwater and specialties in Toddy.
During the journey, there will be a cultural performance such as Panchavadyam, Shinkari Melam, Verakali and Kuthiyottam. By the evening, the ship will reach Pathiramanal Island, where traditional art forms are performed in the amphitheater. Cultural programs in the theater will be organized in cooperation with the Indian Folk Theater Association (IPTA).
On the way back to Alappuzha, tourists can watch the harvesting and processing of clams in stagnant waters. They will also have the opportunity to buy ALAPPUZHA products in floating stores. Safari will end up on Alappuzha Boat Jetty at 6 pm
A few months ago, the Minister of Transport KB visited Ganesh Kumar as part of the project implementation. SWTD implements the project in such a way that tourists can experience the entire picturesque beauty of Kuttanad on a single journey of the ship.
