Nepal created history on Monday, September 29, and amazed West India with a dominant 90-running victory in Sharjah to win the unsurpassed 2-0 leadership in their Třeschomom T20i series. For a team of older men, it was the first to defeat the test nation in their opening bilateral series against one. The celebrations were even sweeter thanks to the cordial gesture after the match from the former Pacerka West Indies Ian Bishop, who chose Nepalese Captain Rohit Paudel in praise and called him a “very good leader”.
Bishop, who hosted the presentation after the match, stopped to address Paudel immediately after hearing the comments of Captain Nepal. In the gesture widely played on the social media, Bishop said:
“I don’t usually do it. But I know the country needs it, the team needs it. Rohit! Very, very well. You are an extremely good leader for a young man.”
The legendary Bowler’s kindness protruded, although Western India suffered one of their most important defeats in the history of the T20i.
Nepal’s orientation triumph developed on the cricket playground Sharjah, where Rohit Paudel-Started Party entered record books by becoming the first associated member to claim the T20i series over a full ICC Member Nation. Winning 90 running in the second T20i ensured Nepal unrivaled 2-0 management and huge support of confidence in the T20 World Cup qualifiers.
“We are very happy. It took a lot to win against the test country. After two days, the bilateral series victory feels really great,” Rohit said.
“The motivation is to complete clean sweeping, but therefore we have to start again from the beginning. We want to transfer this dynamics to the qualifiers and want to qualify for the World Championship in 2026,” he said.
Nepal hammer Wi by 90 runs
