
Virat Kohli jumped into Ravi Shastri’s arms in complete joy after Royal Challengers Bengalur (RCB) finally won the title of the first Indian Premier League (IPL) and defeated Pandjab Kings (PBKS) six runs in 2025 in Narendra Modi in Ahmedabad in Ahmedabad.
Kohli’s emotional celebration reflected the weight of the moment – the waiting that began in 2008 when he joined the RCB after the Indian Triumph of the World Cup U19 in Malaysia.
After Kohli’s victory, he ran towards Shastri and hugged him in a sincere embrace. Both share a long -term bond because they cooperated during Shastri’s tenure as the head of the Indian coach and Kohli Captain.

Shastriho time with the Indian team ended up after the World Cup 2021 T20 in the United Arab Emirates, where India performed in a group phase. Kohli also soon resigned as an Indian captain T20i.

’18 long years’
When Kohli thought about the triumph, he talked about his journey with RCB Ao how he poured everything into the team in the 18 IPL seasons.
“This victory is for fans just like a team. It’s been 18 long years. I gave this team youth, first -class and experience. I tried to win it every season, I gave him everything I have. Finally it is an incredible feeling,” Kohli said.
“I never thought this day would come, I was overcome by emotions after the last ball was bowed. He gave every ounce of my energy and it is a wonderful feeling,” Kohli added.
Kohli played a key role in the final and scored 43 out of 35 balls with three borders. His permanent knocking helped RCB Post 190 for 9 before their pitching kept nerves to limit PBK to 184 to 7.
