What began as a harsh celebration over the victory of IPL Royal Challengers Bengalur (RCB) turned into one crushing tragedy in Bengalur on Wednesday evening when 11 people died – all over 40 – and 33 were injured when the massive building of M. Chinnaswamy stages led to chaos and prey.
The tragedy developed near the gates at the stadium, where thousands of fans gathered to identify the historic first victory of RCB in 18 years. The overfilling and narrow passages led to a deadly rush. Mr. Siddaramaiah admitted that while the stadium could accommodate about 32,000 people, more than 2 lakh gathered there. The doctors attributed all the death of asphyxia, which is a condition arising when the body is deprived of oxygen, causing unconsciousness or death.
