Amid the flight cancellation fiasco, IndiGo on Sunday issued a delay alert at the Delhi airport. Despite the recent relaxation of flight time limits, major unrest continued at several Indian airports on Sunday morning with more than 400 flights canceled across the country.
The worst impacts were seen at major metropolitan airports – particularly Hyderabad, Kolkata and Delhi – where most of the cancellations took place.

In a post on X, Delhi International Airport said: “IndiGo flights may still be delayed. Passengers are advised to check the latest flight status with their airline before departing for the airport to avoid any inconvenience. Our teams are working closely with all stakeholders to minimize delays and ensure smooth travel. For assistance, including medical, please contact the information desk where our ground staff are ready to assist.”
In addition, several public transport options to and from the airport, including metro, buses and taxis, are available for the convenience of passengers, he added.
The worst affected, Telangana’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad today saw the cancellation of 115 flights with 54 arrivals and 61 departures. At least 59 departures and 50 arrivals, totaling 109 flights, were canceled today, according to a statement from the Delhi airport.
Meanwhile, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a notice to the responsible manager of IndiGo.
What did IndiGo say?
IndiGo on Sunday said it was on track to stabilize its network by December 10, reporting a significant improvement in air traffic after days of widespread disruptions that led to flight delays and cancellations, leaving passengers facing significant inconvenience, with some stranded at the airport for hours.
An airline spokesperson said in a statement that flight cancellations have decreased, on-time performance has surged and customer support processes are being strengthened to address outstanding issues.
The airline also revised its stabilization outlook, saying it now has “increasing confidence” that normal operations will resume by December 10, earlier than the previously announced timetable of December 10 to December 15.

“Following the recent operational outages, IndiGo confirms that we are rolling out further significant and permanent improvements to our network. The first step towards this was taken yesterday; further steps were taken today with fewer cancellations and higher on-time performance,” it said in a statement.
