Boxer Jarrell Miller Loses Wig During Fight (Screengrabs) American heavyweight boxer Jarrell Miller picked up a narrow win at Madison Square Garden last Saturday, but the fight will be remembered more for the embarrassing moment than the result. During his fight against Kingsley Ibe, Miller’s wig came loose after absorbing a series of punches and it came off in the front for the crowd to see.Watch:Realizing what had happened at the end of the round, the 37-year-old took it in good humor, smiled and tossed the hairpiece into the stands. Despite the distraction, Miller remained focused and went on to win the fight by split decision.After the fight, Miller explained the unusual situation and blamed it on an unexpected hair accident at home. “I get to my mom’s house and she has some bottles of shampoo on the table,” he said. “I shampooed, it was like ammonia bleach. I literally lost my hair like two days ago.”With little time to prepare, he said he had no choice but to improvise. “So I called my manager (and said), ‘Give me one of those manes,’ and I slapped it real quick… I’m a comedian, I’m making fun of myself.”The bout was part of the undercard of the WBO super lightweight title fight between Teofimo Lopez and Shakur Stevenson, which Stevenson won by unanimous decision.Miller’s career has had its share of controversy. He was due to face Anthony Joshua at the same venue in 2019 before the bout was canceled due to a failed drug test. Andy Ruiz Jr replaced him and went on to shock Joshua in one of boxing’s biggest upsets.
