Abhishek Sharma is not just an innovator when it comes to his hard batting but also his celebrations. He has pulled quite a few in his career, especially in the IPL. And this time he decided to channel his inner Erling Haaland.

Abhishek broke the record for the fastest T20I hundred by a batsman from across the country as he reached the milestone in just 30 balls. A video circulating on social media shows him copying Haaland’s celebration, which he usually uses after scoring goals in the Premier League.

It was Abhishek’s third career T20I hundred and also broke Rohit Sharma’s record for the fastest T20I century by an Indian batsman.

Abhishek Sharma made the most of his chances in the ongoing T20I series against Afghanistan and responded to the pressure around his place with a series of impressive performances. His position at the top of the order was far from guaranteed, with 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Sanju Samson also vying for starting slots.

Given Abhishek’s recent form, the scrutiny has been particularly intense. Coming into the Delhi leg of the series, the left-hander had gone seven innings without a fifty, including four scores in single figures. With the race for seats heating up, Abhishek needed an answer and gave it in an emphatic manner.

After a fifty in the first T20I and a scintillating cameo in the second, Abhishek seemed to be in a completely different mode as he scored a fifty in just 16 balls. Abhishek departed for 108 off 34 balls, hitting nine boundaries and 11 sixes.
