WATCH | Seagull Attacks Journalist Mid-Work, Leaves Her Face Bleeding – Netizens Joke ‘Bird Chose Violence’
What started out as a normal work day turned into a brutally demanding day for the journalists reporting for the outdoor segment. According to a report by The Independent, a reporter was left with a bloody face after being struck by a seagull while filming.
New Zealand journalist Jessica Tyson was reportedly filming an outdoor segment for the Maori+ show Te Ao with Moana when the bird crashed into her.
The bird was probably blown off course by strong winds.
“Oh my god, my eye,” Tyson flinched before quickly realizing the impact had opened a gash above her right eye.
A picture from her Instagram story, accessed by The Independent, showed the journalist bleeding from near her eye, sparking fears about the extent of her injury.
However, the journalist confirmed on Channel 9’s Today program that although she was left with a scar, she was not seriously injured. She also shared that she continued filming after the injuries were cleared.
Here’s how netizens reacted:
Social media users were concerned about the journalist’s injury and joked that the seagull should be “arrested” for the attack.
“The bird chose violence,” the netizen joked. Another said: “Left wing? Right wing? The whole f**king bird mate.”
One user quipped: “Need to check what she was about to say? Maybe it was a message from God to stop her from saying some bullshit.”
“Arrest the bird for assault,” added another.
“Proof that my fear of flying living creatures is not unfounded!” said a netizen.
“I have to report an accident at work,” added another from the Internet.
One user said: “At least the bird didn’t take her eye out… I hope she’s ok.”
“Poor girl, I hope she’s ok,” the user hoped.
“I hope the scar heals quickly!!” said another. The user added: “I feel sorry for you!”
