Indian batsman Sitanshu Kothak has defended the decision to use Washington Sundar as the No. 3 batsman during the Kolkata Test. Sundar scored 29 and 31 during the match and looked India’s best batsman during the match.
“When you think two left-arm spinners can be useful against South Africa and you also want wrist spinners. In the process, if you go ahead with a second left-arm spinner, then of course you have one less batsman. But the number of runs Washington has scored is as good as any batsman,” Kothak said.
