The Washington Post has begun massive layoffs in all departments throughout the company. According to Reuters, one US newspaper has axed its sports department “in its current form” and also cut the number of its international journalists in a large-scale layoff.
The Washington Post plans to retain several reporters to join features and cover sports as a cultural and social phenomenon, Reuters quoted sources as saying. They also said they will shrink their international footprint, which will impact all departments.
