New Delhi: As a global geo -economic uncertainty and tariff wars, supplier chains disrupt the supplier chains, the government began to review a system that offers incentives to small businesses to develop international business relations.
The Ministry Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMes) began to review its international cooperation in 2019, according to two people who realized the development. This program provides financial assistance to industrial associations and organizations of the State and Central Governments that promote the MSME sector.
The review will be dealt with by the participation of MSME in the system to explore whether the implementation has a positive impact on this sector, especially on the first exporter, said the above.
The evaluation is in its initial stages, one of the people said.
The scheme plays tickets, rent for demonstration premises and visits to international conferences of the MSME sector representatives. It will also return the costs of implementing international seminars and conferences. It also provides benefits for building capacities for the first exporters.
Question E -mail to the Ministry of MSME on 31 July remained unanswered.
In FY24, the government helped 545 MSME under the support system £19.22 Crore, according to the publication of Lok Sabha in March 2025. Indian MSME contributes to approximately 45% of the country’s exports.
MSMES must register to gain benefits within the system. For example, the company must be registered under the Company Act and the company must be registered under the Company Act. However, after registration, it must meet the requirements for compliance with the regulations and may not have adequate financial resources, according to reports to several creditors.
Closer check
In March, Mint said that government officials are examining MSME to ensure registration under the goods and services tax regime (GST).
As part of the international cooperation system, the MSME industrial association can participate in three events per year and at the same event for three years in the section. After three consecutive years of participation, MSME or their industrial associations can participate in events after a gap of two years.
First exporters can obtain financial assistance in providing a certificate of registration-cum-membership in the Council of Promotion of Exports and paying fees for quality export certification.
MSME faces fears related to export.
“The sector must be provided with better market access devices in order to maintain and further strengthen its benefits for production, generating employment and exports. At present, many MSME does not have a clear strategy for effective sales support because they lack resources and knowledge,” said Sinha, a 2019 report.
The Bank for the Development of the Small India (Sibdi) industries said in its recent outlook that MSMES trading may worry about the ever -changing global tariff regime affecting their margin.
“About 40% of the exporters were affected directly or indirectly ongoing problems with the tariff,” said the creditor of small enterprises in his outlook MSME survey for April-red 2025.
